Accessories, Fashion Following in her Sister’s Footsteps

I went to Bloomie’s the other day and entered from the door at the bag section on the Ground floor. I looked to my left, and there they were, the See by Chloé handbag line. Aaaaahhhhh!!! How could I forget?? And to think I used to work for Chloé!

Chloé has some of the world’s most adorable and iconic bags. Following in her sister’s path, little See by Chloé is really growing up. See by Chloé has a younger, more casual and fun look and the bags depict just that. Take a look at some of the styles…

Women’s Pipeline Retro-Inspired Satchel ($495.00)

Definitely adding some of these to my wishlist!

Accessories, Fashion, Runway Viktor & Rolf Spring 2009: Everyone’s Invited!

Did you happen to catch the Viktor & Rolf Spring 2009 show? Everyone was invited! The duo showcased their Spring 2009 Collection in the virtual world. That meant no lines, no waiting, no hassles, no fuss.
There are some great reasons to do a show online. Hiring only one model, no PR company, no technicians, a great way to save money especially in the midst of our economic crisis. Everyone watching got a front row seat and had the ability to look at each look up-close. But putting the collection aside, I have to say, I was somewhat disappointed. I expected more craziness, some play with technology…special effects and perhaps even things flying at me. The show featured one model, Shalom Harlow, and while it was cool to see multiple Shalom’s walk down the runway at once, that was really it. The show ended with Viktor and Rolf appearing as puppeteers on top of the runway and all the Shalom’s clapping before vanishing into thin air which to be honest, I found quite spooky. At the end of the day, there is something great about being in a live runway show; whether it’s the craziness of it all, the adrenaline rush you get just being there or holding your breathe hoping that the collection is just phenomenal…it’s not the same watching it online.
Going back to the collection, the looks were very futuristic, switching back and forth between dark (mainly black) and bright colours (mainly red/orange/yellow). I was not too crazy about it, especially after the dramatic F/W 2008 show. Here is the final look.

The only thing I was a huge fan of was the shoes! Gorgeous!

Accessories, Fashion Payless Works It!

Is it just me? Or has Payless completely stepped up their game this season? Their shoes are so on point! Some of them look like they came right out of a design house…

And others are very in tune with Fall/Winter 2008 trends…

My favourite item of all…
Yes, I know, I’m a sucker for bags…even if they cost $5 with any purchase of $25 or more. Definitely going to grab mine tomorrow!
